Date(s) - 18 Oct - 22 Oct
10:00 am - 4:00 pm
This is our flagship and favourite alt-tech event where, over five full days of non-stop alternative technology action, we bring Joel and Tim together to not only build, experience or explain a vast array of technologies but to get across our overall approach of working with what you have to solve sustainable technology problems in the right way for you. According to participant interests we’ll cover some combination of:
- Rocket Stove Hotplates, Ovens, Water & Space Heaters
- Solar Thermal Cooking Systems
- Compost boosted solar hot water
- Toilet Technologies
- Bio-Char Cooker/Oven
- Bike Power (Food processing, electricity generation)
- PV/battery Systems – small stand-alone systems for lighting.
- Wind – traditional farm wind pump & small scale electricity generation units.
You will come out of this course buzzing with hands-on knowledge of how to provide for basic human needs in a low-input, sustainable fashion. Perfect for the homesteader or indeed anyone wanted to be in the best place for riding out a low-energy future in comfort and style.
Lunches, dinners, and snacks catered for in true VEG style (top-notch tucker – beyond organic to say the least) and including camping accommodation at the beautiful Yandoit Farm. Earlybird price is $930 until July 19th 2017 when the full price of $980 will apply. Additional discounts apply for groups and also VEG PDC holders (get in touch for the secret code if you are one of the latter). All are welcome to this course – there are no prerequisite skills required though any and all skills are welcome and will come in hand somewhere, no doubt.
