Happy chickens roaming freely in an urban garden

Adam from Very Edible Gardens will teach you the fundamentals of introducing and maintaining chooks in your garden, and how you can set up chooks in the garden to do garden chores for you.

The workshop will cover:

  • What to consider before getting chooks
  • Feeding and housing chooks
  • Chook health and safety
  • How to harness the power of chooks to do composting, weeding, pest control and fertilisation, all while they have a good time!
  • Good breeds for urban settings and how to get them

This venue is accessible for people using wheelchairs and other mobility aids. If you have any access or support requirements in order to participate fully (eg. interpreter), please let us know at least two weeks prior to the event and we will be pleased to assist you.
