In a few months taken off over the Christmas period, Dan and Amanda from VEG headed to Africa where they’re involved in a few different ongoing permaculture projects. Here’s a during and 17 months after photo of the mandala vegetable garden they helped set up at an orphanage in southern Uganda (visit the project blog here) – now fast evolving into a lush food forest. Gotta love the tropics – there we were looking on the ground for 20cm moringa and mulberry tree seedlings planted 18 months ago and then we realise they’re the five or six metre tall tree we’re standing under!
